I mentioned in a previous post that one of the things I was working on was the second part of The Desiccated. Today I’m excited to reveal the cover and blurb for it! I absolutely LOVE this cover. Marsha Keeney of MK Photography took amazing photos that really helped set the stage for the feeling I wanted the cover to have, while Najla Qamber of Najla Qamber Designs worked her magic to create eerie the atmosphere needed to completely bring the cover to life. Together, the cover was able to become something that’s exactly like a scene from the book and so much more than I could ever hope for. I’m so grateful to both of them for all their hard work!
Keeping all that in mind, are you ready? Are you sure? Okay, here it goes…
The Desiccated – Part 2
By N.J. Ember
Lia’s choice is made, but at a devastating cost. With her stepfather behind her and her little sister by her side, she feels freer than she’s ever been. But there’s a problem. She’s become a target. The only question is: Why? Is it just for what she knows? Lia is certain there’s more to it.
Determined, she searches for a cure and for the answers. As her questions are answered and the puzzle pieces of the illness’s origins fall into place, Lia realizes the forces working against them are even more powerful and sinister than anyone believed. They will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden.
New alliances will be formed. Promises will be broken. One of them won’t make it out alive.

Isn’t it incredible? I really wanted it to have a suspenseful, creepy vibe and I think this cover achieves that. I love all my covers, but I think this is my new favorite. I plan on releasing the book sometime in the next two to three months, depending on how everything goes. I want to give the book the time it needs to develop so I can give you the best version possible. In the meantime, you can add it to your goodreads here.
Until next time!
I hope you like the cover as much I do. Be sure to tell me what you think in the comments! Have other questions? Leave them there, too!
